GTA III: Anniversary gets release date (indystar)
The actual anniversary happened nearly two months ago, but Rockstar Games has
finally made it official: Grand Theft Auto III: 10-Year Anniversary Edition
will be arriving on various iOS and Android mobile platforms on Dec. 15. While
having GTA III in a handheld form is technologically shocking to anyone who
played it on a PlayStation 2 back in 2001, the really remarkable part is that
Rockstar will be charging only $4.99 for the game. Most apps have been taking
part in the "race to the bottom" with regards to pricing, but many bigger
titles -- especially those that are ports of console games -- have been edging
higher. (The worst offender is probably Square Enix. Anyone who has bought a
Final Fantasy game for iPhone for $15.99 has become familiar with the "Square
tax" that has hit the iOS FF titles.) Rockstar has also released four new
screenshots on its website while promising a new trailer next week for the
anniversary edition. iOS Android Not every iOS and Android will be able to
